IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT

I remember one of the last lessons of wisdom my father gave me. It turned out to be the one that has served me the most along with being the hardest because of the situation that was at hand when he gave it to me.
The jest of the lesson was “JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING DOESN’T MEAN YOU ALWAYS SHOULD.”
Sometimes helping a person is good. Sometimes to help them the most you have to watch them make the mistake or fail in order for them to understand the lesson.
It can be the hardest thing in the world to watch your loved one go through this but in the end it may save their life or it may give them the knowledge to help someone else.
The main thing to remember is once you have told your loved one about your thoughts you have to let them make the choice.  And if they fail you must remember to let them know that you still love them and that you are there for them no matter what.
Hind sight will always be 20/20 but in the heat of the night failure without a persons love is like falling from a trapeze without a net.
