THE PROMISE OF TOMORROW

If staying long term in a hospital has taught me anything it’s you have to be prepared for smiling and waveing at a person as you walk by their room one day and seeing their empty bed the next because they didn’t make it through the night like you did.
Not only does it hurt your heart but it hurts the nurses also.
So the next time your visiting someone in a hospital remember, even though you didn’t wana go, there is power in every smile, hello, handshake and time you spend with someone you know in their room or the stranger you see strugling to just walk down the hall.  The kindness you show may make some persons day bright even though they might not make it through the night.
Remember to thank your nurses.
You wouldn’t believe what they do for people. And they do it with a smile.
