THE DREAM OF NO PAIN

WHEN DID I GROW SO OLD

I THOUGHT I WAS TWENTY FIVE

BUT EVERY DAY NOW THAT I GET TO WAKE UP

I’M SO HAPPY TO JUST BE ALIVE

I’VE HAD MY FAIR SHARE OF SICKNESS

ROAD OUT A MANY OF A STORM

BUT THE LAST TIME THEY WHEELED ME IN THE OPERATION ROOM

THE SURGONS LOOK UP AND SHOUTED “NORM”

A SHOULDER AND SIDE DOES HURT ME

I TRY NOT TO ASK FOR PILLS

BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I HURT JUST SITTING

AND IT FEELS LIKE I’VE BEEN STUCK WITH QUILLS

I BEND, STREACH AND WALK

IT HELPS ME SOME OF THE TIME

BUT WHEN I GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW

HE TELLS ME I HAVE TO WALK THE LINE

SO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY

RUN, PLAY AND SHOUT FOR GLEE

HEED MY WARNING AND TAKE MY ADVISE

AND YOU WON’T EVER END UP LIKE ME
